It’s been a rather lighthearted week at the Spotlight this week, so why not extend that into the “Friday Night Fights”? So tonight I’m forced to embarrass the most unsung superhero in the Marvel Universe. Yes, even more ignored than Solarman.

Darn you for making me do this, Spacebooger! Darn you!

Round 9 of 12

The Battlefield: The Adventures of Kool-Aid Man #1 (Marvel Comics, 1987)

The Promoters: Darned if I know. I couldn’t find any credits on my copy or online.

Our battle begins just after the supporting cast for the story introduce themselves to each other for some reason, already being friends, while visiting a local amusement park. Suddenly…

Actually, Maria turns out to be right. Go figure.

So just how evil can a giant thirst monster be in a comic promoting a soft drink to kids?

The fiend!

Well, mean enough that the kids have to summon our hero.

I think every other blogger that comments on Kool-Aid Man has already said everything here.

And now for the trash talking!

I didn't say it was epic trash talking. You were expecting "Yo Mamma" jokes?

Surely this is going to be an epic battle, even if it is the beginning of the story.

Not to mention my bosses at Kraft Foods.

Don’t worry, folks. Kool-Aid Man won’t let us down!

Actually, he comes back with a mirror to win the final battle. True story.

Why no, I don’t learn my lesson.
