Fun Publications (Botcon 2010) Diamond Edition

This was the Diamond version of this year’s Botcon convention comic.

In this timeline Transformers created on Earth once served no faction but ended up becoming their own “Generation Two” counterparts. A group of Autobots attempt to break into a Decepticon facility where Sky-Byte is testing a mineral called Forestonite. Long story short Autobots and Decepticons are exposed to it giving them all super powers.

In a backup story based on the “Shattered Glass” timeline, the evil universe version of Wheeljack tricks a Decepticon he resembles a sample of the Forestonite.

What they got right: This is a comic for a convention so it plays solely to those fans and introduces the exclusive figures (usually redecos of old molds) for that year. In this it succeeds. The art is pretty good although I have seen better even from the folks involved. I do like the coloring effects for the powers in use.

What they got wrong: Nah, I’m not even going to bother here. What complaints I would take away feels like I’m judging a webcomic. The staff may well have been paid for their services, but this was done to have fun with and strictly for fellow Transformers fans.

Recommendation: If your not a Transformers fan, you’re not going to like this comic at all so don’t bother. If you are and, like me, you couldn’t make the convention and aren’t part of the official Transformers Collectors Club, it’s a fun story with some good profiles at the end. Why not get it?

There was one better, but if you don't recall a particular scene in the original animated movie, you won't get it.
