When Rory uses the TARDIS phone to check his e-mail he causes living embodiments of spam to screw up the TARDIS, which lands on a planet where only holograms exist. Scavengers are planning to destroy the planet because they can’t take the holographic resources and the Doctor uses his problem to solve theirs.
What they got right: Hey, a female companion who isn’t hot for the Doctor. Having a married couple on the ship is an interesting twist, so thank you Steven Moffat. And thank you IDW for keeping Tony Lee writing this comic. He continues to capture the spirit of the Doctor even with the new regeneration.
What they got wrong: Can the TARDIS really turn spam into holograms? I didn’t know it had anything more than a recording machine. And how many covers do you need?
Recommendation: The Doctor is back, so revel in it.
