I don't even eat the stuff.

The initial idea for this comic came when word came out they were canceling Cap’N Crunch over at Quaker. Quaker’s parent company, PepsiCo, has said that isn’t the case, but I don’t think that invalidates the argument I make in this comic. I’m not too far off of the mark on this one. I get tired of adults trying to destroy childhood for kids. As I wrote in one of my early articles on this site, it’s not the product, it’s the parents who just want to shut the kid up + the Nanny state mentality that is killing off kids entertainment and a part of my cultural childhood. Cap’N Crunch isn’t the monster here.

Well, as we continue to screw our kids out of the fun WE had as kids, let’s see what other news is out there.

comics

  • The young reader book series DC should give the greenlight to. After Supergirl: Cosmic Adventures, of course.
  • Can Marvel and DC retain their copyright upon the name superhero, or can these lawyers inadvertently help all of us who want to write about them?

television/movies

video games

  • In 1691, the settlers of Jamestown move to defeat the Martians. Could this be the greatest video game ever?
  • You know that Duke Nukem game you’ve been waiting for, but were finally going to get? Looks like you’ll be waiting a bit longer. The scream of torturous rage you hear are from the game’s long-waiting fans.

in other news

  • Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will be making a brief return to the WWE.
  • In all the bad news surrounding the tsunami in Japan, meet the biggest bad$$$ in the country. The article sells him a bit, but I’m not sure they need to.
  • I think I linked to this one, but just in case, a defense of the happy ending.
  • Changes are being made to the Broadway disaster Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark but will they save the show…or stop actors from being hurt?
  • The Clutter Reports: This week’s cleaning project turned out to be boring to write about, so just a little paper clutter advice this week.
  • This Week’s Cracked: I admit that I’ve never sat down and watch the Tom Hanks movie Big but there are some good points made in 5 Reasons “Big” Had The Most Depressing Happy Ending Ever. There are some very loose plot threads on this one.
