While I’ve been enjoying the new Thundercats series thus far, I haven’t had a chance to see the intro because my DVR keeps cutting off the beginning. I did find it on YouTube…
…and was subsequently disappointed. Not enough that it would be in the “My Least Favorite Intros” category, mind you. It’s not bad, but it’s just too short. As Tyler James/TJOmega pointed out to me on Twitter (he doesn’t follow me, but he does respond to my tweets to him), Cartoon Network wants that time to put in an extra commercial. Still, I remember when an intro got you psyched up for the show. You know, like the original intro.
(The best copy I could find was from a Spanish version, thus the narrator.)
See, that’s an intro. Rocking music (for the 80’s), showcasing the action to come…imagine that with the improve animation style of the new series. No, the best we have is this fan-made intro (where the embedding has sadly been disabled) which I very much prefer. I assume Claudius position in the intro would be taken over by Panthro starting this week’s episode (he pops up briefly in the previous one). But Cartoon Network wants money, and forgets the better the show, the more ad dollars roll in for it. A proper intro get you watching the show, and a bad one can chase you off.
