Derek is rescued at the last minute from his fall last issue. Super Dinosaur and Terrordactyl end up in the middle of a city with Maximus’ minions until Erica activates a tracking beacon, leading Maximus and his new dino-creation to our heroes’ base!
What they got right: Action! Action! Action! The fights are great, and SD keeps getting cool new battlesuits.
What they got wrong: Characters like Painkylosaurus and Doometrodon seem really cool, but we never really got an introduction. I think they need to go back and see how cartoons or something like Switch Runners takes time to introduce their roster of characters. And Erica activating the beacon. Knew that was coming. Finally, the Kingstons are becoming a plot device, from Wheels’ timely upgrade to suits popping out of nowhere. How do they have the time for this?
Recommendation: The pacing may be too fast to really introduce anyone, but if you want non-stop dino-humans beating each other up (and really, who doesn’t?), this is the comic for you.
Sometimes even the bad guys can be awesome.
This was the last new comic I picked up this week, so the next three days will be old comics; the first three issues of a series to be exact.
