This one isn’t quite Saturday Night Showcase material. However, it is an interesting fan film, based on the updated cartoon. “Origins” tells the story of King Greyskull, the previous holder of the powers Adam receives when he becomes He-Man. (Actually, the show itself already told that story.)
Note that the movie isn’t in English. However, you can turn on the closed captions and bring up English or Spanish subtitles. (You may also want to turn off the annotations, since they’re there for most of the video.)
It’s not perfect, even by fan film standards. Adam and Zoar are portrayed by the real thing and granted Cringer would have to be done in CG. Hordak and Skeletor didn’t need to be unless he had that few people and funds. (Although the falcon is either real or where all the computer editing time went to.) He-Man and King Greyskull suffer the worst from the CG, as they look so unreal as to make the scenes almost laughable. They found an actress for the Sorceress, but not for He-Man/Greyskull? Still, you can see that this was done as a fan of the updated series so if you can overlook Adam with a goatee and sideburns it’s an OK little video.
