When Space Ghost first aired only two of the shorts per episode featured Space Ghost and his young friends. In between was another short, Dino Boy In The Lost Valley, the story of a young survivor of a plane crash living in a “land of the lost” type world. While there actually was a multi-short storyline that features Space Ghost at one point teaming with multiple Hanna-Barbera “Super Adventure” heroes, he never joined forces with his own supporting show despite taking that spot in two episodes to air the “Council of Doom” tale.

Luckily, the comics fixed that mistake.

Sent through time by Metallus’ “time bot”, an unconscious Space Ghost is taken by a cave-cult to be sacrificed to their “fire beast”. Blip, who was also drawn in, makes friends with Dino Boy and Ugh the caveman and together they race to his rescue. First they deal with the cave-cult.

Then it’s time to deal with the fire beast.

I don’t care what some of you say, Hanna-Barbera designed some cool monsters in their day.

Back home, Jan is able to reprogram the time bot and Jayce locates our heroes, bringing them back home. Dino Boy decides not to take the opportunity to escape the valley because now this is his home. (We’ll just assume his family died in the plane crash then.)
