This is a day when the US gives thanks to the Veterans, those who actually survived to tell the tales of the fallen and to deal with the horrors they saw. For tonight’s post I heard about an organization called Honor Flight, who bring Vets to the memorials to remember friends who lost their lives either on the battlefield or against an enemy who will claim us all…old age. The number of people who fought in the second World War, or who were even old enough to remember it, are growing smaller as Father Time claims them all. So it’s good to see a group like this reminds them that we haven’t forgotten them the 364 days of the year we don’t celebrate their sacrifice.
To learn more about the Honor Flight Network, check out their website. And thank a Veteran, or someone currently serving in the military, for his or her service to keep you and yours safe, and for the families to stand with them.
