Never even knows the other exists in the story until the final page.

Nightwing #4

DC Comics (January, 1997)

“Lady Be Deadly”
WRITER: Chuck Dixon
PENCILER: Scott McDaniel
INKER: Karl Story
COLORIST: Roberta Tewes
SEPARATIONS: Jameson
LETTERER: John Costanza
ASSOCIATE EDITOR: Darren Vincenzo
EDITOR: Scott Peterson

Nightwing isn’t the only one searching for Angel Marin, the mob boss whose men were found dead in Gotham Harbor. So is a woman calling herself Lady Vic, whom Marin owes money too. Plus, Soames may know more about the deaths than he let on, as shown when “Foxy” confronts the detective.

What they got right: The mystery deepens and intrigues. Dick seems more and more to have found a niche for himself. Also, he’s not the only one running around in costume.

What they got wrong: He is, however, the only one in a good costume. Lady Vic’s outfit is just terrible looking. The mask is uninteresting, the ponytail is worse than a cape as far as a fight and doesn’t look nearly as cool, and she shows more cleavage than Power Girl. If she ever gets her money from Marin she needs to spend it on a supervillain fashion designer.

Recommendation: Still finding the story interesting and when Nightwing and Lady Vic have their confrontation it should be a good fight. Worth taking a look.
