Three tales, three mini reviews.
Jabberjaw’s grandmother, Gammyjaws, pays the Neptunes a visit just as a senior citizen villain called the Ancient Mariner breaks up their performance. Jabberjaw’s villains are usually more competent than this, but I do like Gammyjaws giving Shelly a taste of their own medicine. There are also groan-worthy sea puns, like the agent Pufferfish Daddy being in the audience. It’s a decent enough story.
Speed Buggy, Mark, and Debbie have to rescue Tinker when a scientist insists he turn a luxury car into a living car named Lincoln. On the one hand it feels short, but I have a hard time imagining how you’d drag out the story so maybe I’m just weird. Still good, but the weaker of the three.
My favorite of the trio features Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels, who go to prehistoric scientist Dr. Namevac (think about it) to help them fix Cavey’s club and in turn deal with a fake caveman ghost. Because we all know what cavemen were really like in the Hanna-Barbera universe. They even have a display with Flintstones style houses. Now this COULD have been longer so we could have a full mystery with suspects and everything. When we meet Dr. Harry Hausen as the villain, we never had the chance to suspect him because we didn’t meet him until the end. Still, good story and I honestly miss this show.
Altogether some decent stories worth reading but not really hunting crazy for.
