There have been at least two intros, including this one, that I know of, but this is the one that was on while I was watching. to be honest I was already too old for the books on the show but I liked seeing the kids doing the reviews, the readings by celebrities, and seeing where LeVar Burton would be hosting from that day.
Here at BW Media Spotlight, reading and promoting reading of stories gets a huge thumbs up. Reading Rainbow left the air in 2006. Now it’s hard for me to believe that kids are more illiterate considering how many of them use Twitter, blogs, text messaging, and ebooks but there’s something to be said for good old fashioned books. Reading Rainbow showed that books were great for reading and all you need is a light source to read by. Recently Burton bought the name and started an app, but that wasn’t enough.
So yesterday he launched a Kickstarter to bring the TV series back in the old format, but on the internet. (I would also think looking to get it on a kids network would be a good idea.) I was going to try and help push it today…but it already blew past the goal. Now they’re going for stretch goals so I still want to promote it.

As of this writing they have made double their goal…in the first day! I’m guessing a lot of kids are going to get to see this new show in their classroom. They haven’t listed stretch goals yet, but I bet they meet them.
