Failing that he asks his teacher who recommends contacting GUTS (which he hopes to join when he grows up). Diago notices a similar monster trying to jump into Rena’s hair, confirming they do exist. They capture it but at the boy’s house the monsters are summoned and merge into a giant monster, which Tiga must stop while protecting a toddler.
What they got right: Hey, we have a kid who idolizes GUTS and ends up involved in one of their cases…and he doesn’t try once to get involved. We also get a nice way out for Daigo to have an alibi during the Tiga/monster attack. Also, the monster feeds on garbage but this isn’t an environmental cautionary story. It’s just a simple plot device.
What they got wrong: One of the little things escapes, teasing a return tale we never get.
Recommendation: The first original tale and it’s a good one. This is still the best series to introduce yourself to the Ultraman franchise.
