Earth-20, if I’m reading the online multiverse map correctly. They just got over one war but now Earth-40 is drifting close to their reality and the forces of Vandal Savage are coming. Doc Fate gathers Green Lantern Abin Sur, the Immortal Man, Mighty Atom, and the lady Blackhawks to form the Society Of Super-Heroes (I wish I came up with that name) to oppose them.
What they got right: I’m not kidding, I’m trying to come up with potential superteam names and that’s one I wish I had come up with. The art is well done and Morrison is a darn-good world builder. Which is a good thing when you’re building a multiverse.
What they got wrong: The first one is personal taste, but man does this get dark, mostly with Lady Shiva talking about wearing people’s privates as earrings or cooking people like she wants to eat them. Dark seems to be the trend in these stories, but they’re quite good….but not $5 good considering I’m so low on funds. Seriously, why are these books so dang expensive? And with so many different covers that I don’t even know what I have.
Recommendation: Unless something really grabs my attention I can’t afford to get any more Multiversity comics, but this are good comics. If you have the extra funds it might be worth a look.
