Writing for Bretbart’s “Big Hollywood” feature (after the reorganization of the site following the creator’s passing), John Nolte interviews Scott Eyman, who has written numerous biographies about stars he feels haven’t gotten a fair shake. In part one, they discuss John Wayne, how his politics hurt his career, and why Hollywood has forgotten what made the “Golden Age” and the “studio era” of moviemaking so classic. Fun fact: my dad served on the base where they filmed The Green Berets but never got to meet him.
