Showing how little attention I pay to my e-mail sometimes, I just found out that Richard Hatch, who played Apollo on the original Battlestar Galactica, has passed away as a result of pancreatic cancer. It’s one of the shows I grew up with, which made it a big deal here at the Spotlight. He follows the show’s creator, Glen A. Larson, who passed on a few years ago. Hatch had a career beyond that, but was always connected to the show and worked for a revival, although Universal went with the darker remake instead. He will be missed by loved ones and fans.

It’s sad to see so many people passing away from cancer. Rest in peace, Richard Hatch.
