Terrorists attempt to steal a virus from STAR Labs (who want to turn it into an anti-plague) in order to prove their evil, but Superman arrives to stop them. When the virus is released, Superman takes it into his own lungs. Although immune thanks to his Kryptonian DNA, he is now a carrier. His only hope is the Nirvana Crystal, whose radiation may cure it, but Lobo wants it for the money. Too bad Superman isn’t done with terrorists out to do good, because the owner wants to destroy his planet’s sun to cleanse the “evil” that took his wife and drove him mad. However, his daughter tries to stop him only to accidentally launch the missile. Superman manages to destroy the missile, with the radiation from the destroyed Crystal indeed curing him, so now he can return home. And even if he knew about the reward he might not mind Lobo taking his share since he has the reward he really wants.
What they got right: Everyone wins. I love that kind of story, even if it includes a jerk like Lobo.
What they got wrong: Not making it into an episode or direct to video movie. Instead we got Brainiac Attacks and the world is worse off for it.
Recommendation: A great Superman movie and it just happens to be set in the DCAU. I highly recommend this story.
