With a new live-action Masters Of The Universe movie teasing the possibility of finally escaping development hell (believe it when I see it), Netflix is announcing an animated reboot He-Man’s sociopath sister, She-Ra. Well, “sociopath” if you follow Free Comic Inside. I wonder if she’ll turn anyone into a flock of butterflies? In all seriousness I wonder if they’ll stick close to the Filmation series, try to match the 2000s series, the new DC continuity, or something more like Voltron: Legendary Defender, where the tone will bounce around between silly and serious? Since I don’t have Netflix I probably will never know.

This new She-Ra cartoon will be appreciated by die-hard She-Ra fans. It’s good to see that a cartoon with a strong female main character is arriving. It’s good to see strong female main characters currently existing in a variety of cartoons, television shows, and movies. The news that most gets my attention though is the possible release of a live action Masters of the Universe during the 2019 Christmas season. That’s something I’m really looking forward to.

I’d like to see Dwayne Johnson (“The Rock”) play He-Man and Nicki Minaj portraying Evil Lyn. Tom Selleck could be Man At Arms. Orko would be computer generated of course. Anybody else out here have other ideas on what actors or actresses could portray the various characters of Masters of the Universe in a live action movie?
