I couldn’t attend ConnectiCon again this year and that saddens me. Yesterday was my birthday and I spent it home working on other project. I love bringing you guys videos and images from the convention and I love all the stuff I’ve been able to do there, with or without a press pass. But there’s nothing I can do this year since I still have no money coming in.
However, the convention is doing a series of livestreams from the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford, CT. But only two rooms, Main Events and the “Phoenix” room. The latter has terrible audio so you can barely hear the presenters and have to turn your volume up but then the audience is way too loud and Lord have mercy on anyone using headphones. The Main Events room is a bit better and the source of tonight’s Showcase so I can at least bring you something from ConnectiCon.
“Cosplay” is short for “costume play”, where you aren’t just wearing the costume but playing a character, from a generic robot to C-3PO. It’s all in good fun. Part of that comes from the “masquerade”, which I think other conventions do as well. It’s a sort of talent show, where the cosplayers can show off not only their costumes but stretch their comedic, dance, or other performing talents. So if UMG hasn’t put a copyright on this like they have a few other stream archives this weekend, I can bring you the 2018 Cosplay Masquerade. Enjoy!
