BW’s Morning Article Link: Big Bird’s Player Retires

Variety is reporting that Carol Spinney, who portrays Big Bird and Oscar The Grouch on Sesame Street will be retiring, after the 50th anniversary. New Muppeteers have already been chosen. He’s been with the show and played the characters since the first episode all the way back in 1969. And the show hasn’t been rebooted once. Take that continuity-haters! I and my child self thanks Mr. Spinney for his dedication and for giving so many of us two childhood favorites.
