When it comes to a story and its characters we can agree that there are people who carry their fandom too far and can be total jerks, I grant you. However, for people who defend changes so big that it’s no longer the same property or the same characters “it’s just a story” is not a good defense. Author Caroline Furlong taps BW fave Professor Geek to demonstrate that there is more to our fiction, our modern mythology, than just being a story because a good story has a positive impact on the world around us.
