Val blasts Michael, and then Lewis when he tries to stop her, then Ray when he attempts to intervene. Running off, she’s confronted by cops but rescued by a speedster going by Rush. He wants her help on a paid job, dealing a loan shark’s client. Meanwhile, Michael ends up having a human body, his powers kicking in when hoodlums were robbing a lab or something he worked at and sending his consciousness into the internet. It was there he learned of the others because someone has a file on them. While attempting to escape the cops, Ray hears a voice trying to take him over but Lewis calms him down, he and Angela managing to save him, relieving her of her trauma that was keeping her from revealing rope-like tentacles from her body. Unfortunately our heroes are surrounded, Rush knows the police chief, his dad, is lying, and only he and Val are left to save them, but do they care?

What they got right: The various traumas we’ve seen when it comes to powers and reactions to situations are fine.

What they got wrong: On the other hand they’re dropping the exposition and trauma recoveries pretty quick. I’m still very confused as to what’s going on and on a monthly basis I’m not sure I’d be getting into this. Also, I really don’t like Val personally. I don’t care what she’s been through, difficult as it is. She’s just obnoxious and I’d like for them to just let her go.

What I think overall: I’m not even remembering their names, because outside of Rush they’re just regular people names and the people thus far really aren’t interesting to me. There are still three more issues in the reading order until the next comic and that’s how long it has to convince me to keep reading this series. Frankly, I’m not expecting it to last that long at this point.
