I couldn’t tell which of the variant covers Neon Ichiban went with.
Starting from the Plutarkian invasion of Mars, for fans of the franchise. There were already reports that they weren’t the best pals of the Mars mice when they invaded a beach and ruined a party attended by Throttle, Moto, and Vinnie. As the story time jumps the Plutarkians go full invasion mode on Mars. The trio have done a few commando raids on the rats delivering their stuff and the fish-like Plutarkians themselves, but it’s not until they see what kind of firepower the invaders are working with that they finally agree to join the war effort officially, meaning Throttle has to leave his increasingly senile mom and Moto his family. (Vinnie’s parents died at some point through unexplained events.) The Plutarkian leader, Stilton, sends the rabbits of the Sand Raiders to find one particular rebel, named Stoker.
What they got right: Since this is supposed to be a shared universe (and the only series I think can actually connect to Robo Force), mentioning the Robo Force company as the weapons supplier is a nice nod. Fans might be able to find other ones, or if you know motorcycle culture better than I could. The art is good and I’m guessing this series explains the mechanical enhancements that will be in the show (if they ever get it out) and in their cameo in the Robo Force cartoon from Tubi.
What they got wrong: I think they expect you to know who the Biker Mice (who for some reason still call themselves “Biker Mice From Mars” while living on Mars) are from the past two cartoons and tie-in media. As a new continuity that seems like a bad idea if you’re courting new kids.
What I think overall: Currently the only issue I have access to, this is a good start to the series, provided you can gather enough of an idea who the main trio are. I don’t know if this leads into the cartoon (the Robo Force comic didn’t seem to) but it’s not a bad intro to a comic timeline.
