You’d think Hollywood would love that kind of dysfunctional morality storytelling. They do it often enough.

While I (of course) agree with Leon here, Jake does have the only reason I could think of (outside of the most likely answer–that Hollywood is full of boring people in the wrong positions) for changing the concept of Fox’s The Human Target to a boring old bodyguard. The previous TV show, the one with Rick Springfield, was closer to the DC Comic character, and I found it a lot more interesting. Sometimes the gimmick does work.

Once again you see where I have Jake’s thoughts in what passes for a more serious art style. This is the one I most want to work on, so it was nice to get back into it. Using coloring pencils sets it apart further as Jake’s thoughts, since he’s supposed to be a cartoonist. I also used the other inking tools, instead of the Sharpie ultra-fine marker I currently use for the regular art in this comic.

And you know something I just realized? I didn’t put a background in the “Human Target” panels because I didn’t have time, and just used the computer coloring. But then I sat on this comic for two weeks due to site maintenance and Easter. I had more than enough time to go back and fix it. This is why I’m an idiot.
