This was a different kind of test. For some reason every time I try to draw in this style the nose ends up too big, which throws the face off. However, if I do it on a different kind of paper (like on the back of a store receipt) it comes out closer to how I want it. I didn’t know if it was the paper or the pencil I carry with me (an old Paper Mate mechanical pencil).
So I tried using that pencil on this comic, and tried a modified art style I came up with when I was bored. I thought if the eyes are the problem (I make the nose so it looks right with the eyes) maybe a new type of eye style would work.
It’s totally the computer/photocopy paper that I use (the back of the paper I use for my ComiXology printout that I bring to the comic store), so I may have to pick up some of the infamous bristol board (I was waiting until I started on my test comic book) and see how that works.
