Free Comic Inside: Sectaurs–Skulk’s Master Planning

It’s time to return to Symbion, a planet where scientists unleash a plague that doomed the world. Yeah, I know, but that’s what’s in the rotation. Besides these guys end up turning on each other in a great civil war…wow, the Sectaurs toyline really did predict 2020 didn’t it? Well, at least we didn’t turn into bug people while all of civilization died. Yet.

The team of Skulk and Trancula fall into the action figure and puppet. Skulk could ride Trancula and instead of just jumping the Trancula figure around you put your hand inside it and controlled his head and pincers. This is the third comic in the list at Sectaurs.com but the scans on this one aren’t the best for reading, so you have to zoom in and the text sometimes get pixelated. Luckily it isn’t so bad that I can’t follow the story, so let’s see how this villain story works out. Hopefully not well for the villain.

BW’s Daily Article Link: Capcom Clamps Down On “Inappropriate” Videos

Capcom has announced that they plan to go after videos, mods, and certain other content they find inappropriate. This (so far) may not include fan art or “dojinshi” (Japan has a lighter perspective on fan comics than Western publishers) but in the comments people are worried that this is coming next. Do you think it will? And what qualifies as “inappropriate”, racist, or porn? Already someone has had their video taken down from YouTube but not having seen it I don’t know what was in it.

Chapter By Chapter> BattleTech: I Am Jade Falcon chapter 13

Chapter By Chapter features me reading one chapter of the selected book at the time and reviewing it as if I were reviewing an episode of a TV show or an issue of a comic. There will be spoilers if you haven’t read to the point I have, and if you’ve read further I ask that you don’t spoil anything further into the book. Think of it as read-along book club.

I think we’re at the 1/3rd point of this book. Yes, we’re going to be awhile on this one. I just want to finish up the set-up and get to the promised spy story already. But maybe what Diana found last chapter will play into that. At the very least we’re told Diana is sure this will give Joanna what she’s been wanting…a chance to beat a certain jerk into the ground…possibly literally. The sad thing is I’ve run out of spoiler-free commentary to make into two paragraphs way too early in the book’s run. That doesn’t usually happen until closer to the end of the book but this is a 32 chapter book. At any rate let’s get into it and see what Diana’s learned.

BW’s Daily Video: 18 Quotes From Yoda To Live By

More from Next Of Ken on their YouTube channel.

Jake & Leon #481: Bliss

I’d say ignorance is bliss but that’s usually how they trick you. However, not watching the news has its benefits.

Over at The Clutter Reports I took down the decorations and I’m already planning what clutter-clearing projects to do next.

Here at BW this week I don’t really know what’s coming outside of the usual comic reviews and the next chapter (yes, it’s only one chapter this time) of BattleTech: I Am Jade Falcon. I do plan to do a Scooby rotation between the Scooby-Doo comic I’ve been reviewing, Scooby-Doo Where Are You, and all the Scooby-Doo Team-Up comics (I’ll have to do research to get the issue information right since the digital comics are half of the full-size print comics and thus the issue numbers are a bit wonky–which is why I took advantage of the free promotion at the time and grabbed the collections instead to keep my comiXology library under control) in the hopes of getting actual mysteries for the reader to solve and Saturday will leave comiXology behind since the rest of Doctor Who: The Forgotten comes from my physical comics.

I know what I’d like to do for features this week, or at least a few of them, but we know how I’ve had trouble with that based on current life events and I don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up…especially mine…if I don’t get there. I can only promise I’ll do my best to bring you interesting commentary from myself and possibly others as we examine the art of storytelling. Hope everyone has a great week!
