In this week’s Clutter Report it’s just a quick look at a re-cleaning of the junk drawer. There’s a link in that article to the original junk drawer cleaning article and you’ll learn more there.
So who’s taking bets as to whether or not I’ll get a Finally Watched in this week? I’ve been trying to for the past two weeks, along with a new Art Of Storytelling but I need time to watch the movie and something keeps coming up on Friday to discuss. Maybe this week? Also, more of Doctor Who: The Time Travelers and all the comics I’ve been doing, as well as a What If story, one of a series of specials released in 2005. I think I have a few more so we’ll be checking those out in the daily comic reviews. I’d like to get away from the backstage drama nonsense that took too many spots last week, but that’s on the entertainment industry to give me something else worth discussing, which is hard to do during the quarantine. (Hey, I spelled it right the first time!) Have a good week!

I wasn’t planning to do this one. I figured if you wanted to watch Linkara go after this garbage you could go to his site and do so. Then I watched the review and then Tom King did something horrible on Twitter that caused me to lose any respect I might have had for the man and I decided maybe should. Because nothing explains what’s wrong with King’s writing or DiDio’s Darker DC than Heroes In Crisis. This is a story that takes a look at mental health and the stresses of being a solider, officer, first responder, and of course superheroes through a thin veil of mud and thinks it’s a clear picture. It’s a story that slaughters beloved heroes. It’s a story that ruins a fan-favorite character. It’s a story that makes me wonder why this guy gets any praise. And it’s not even a good story to boot.
Like with Secret Empire last week this is a multi-part video but worth spending time on as a good example of a bad example.

BW’s Daily Article Link: Another Vote For Escapism
It’s one of our recurring topics here at the Spotlight, the idea that escapism is a good thing and that “realism” is really a cynical take on the world rather than anything believable. And the more fantastic your world is the lest “real” it needs to be. Fantasy author James Harrington makes his own case in favor of escapism and an example of how you can be escapist while still being close to real life.
