Animal Man is forcibly pared with B’Wanna Beast only because they both have powers themed around animals, even though that’s the only thing they have in common. It doesn’t help that he has to run defense with the other Leaguers, who are tired of Beast’s lack of teamwork, especially in the recent fight with one of Gorilla Grodd’s underlings that even got Superman mad at him. However, when Queen Bee attacks Mexico City, did he actually save Animal Man or he just finally find something in the fight he could punch?
What they got right: I like the artwork. The story isn’t bad. However…
What they got wrong: I don’t really feel like anything was resolved. This version of B’Wanna Beast is still a jerk. The two are still being pared together for the weakest reason. I don’t really see what came out of this story.
Recommendation: Not a terrible story, but not one to go crazy hunting down.
