I haven’t seen the Netflix version of the sci-fi series Lost In Space but for fans I just hope it’s better than the movie was. (Sorry, all I have for images in my library are the tie-in comics from Dark Horse from the movie.) However, if you liked the show a series of graphic novels from Legendary’s recent foray into comics might be something that interest you. If you like prequels.
We return to Eternia but we also return to the pre-minicomics, the illustrated booklets of series 1. Four of these were produced and tonight, via He-Man.org, we’ll be looking at the third one. To recap this continuity: He-Man went out from his home village to protect Castle Grayskull because it was Tuesday or something (seriously, no reason is given), and comes across a green-skinned Goddess who gives him a power-boosting harness, a harness that creates force fields and looks exactly the same as the power-boosting harness (I wonder if he ever mixed those up?), and the Battle Ram vehicle. Skeletor comes from another dimension and wants to use the power of Grayskull to open a portal to his home dimension so he can lead an army to conquer Eternia because it’s there and they don’t own it.
This story focuses on those gifts He-Man was given and gives Mer-Man something to do in this story besides stand around. It’s a story in which the heroes look foolish until the final act. Must be Friday the 13th on Eternia.

Sorry, I don’t have anything from this franchise in my movie library and I’m currently in need of a new link/image tracker since Zemanta/Sovrn appears to have stopped offering it.
I’m not into the Aliens franchise, but I know some of you out there are, and I’m guessing you’ve enjoyed the Dark Horse run on Aliens comics, including the Predator crossovers that didn’t do as well as movies. So you might like to know that Dark Horse is taking a discarded script for Alien 3 and making it into a comic. How many of you wish this had been the movie?
There are three sections to this book covering the three story arcs of the comics. We are now on the final chapter of section two. This chapter has been showing how you handle the death of a character. We’ve seen the reactions, the mourning, the villains who will take advantage for their own gain, and the beginning of new heroes rising up to take over. We’ll see more of that next chapter but first we need to wrap up this storyline.
Here’s a blast from the past I’d like to see: the days when this was a superhero comic instead of an urban soap opera.

The only Blade Runner comics produced have been Marvel’s two-issue adaptation of the first movie, both issues of which I’ve reviewed on this site by the way. Do a search. The second movie didn’t get a comic adaptation, and neither did the video game, the only sequel fans thought they’d get until Blade Runner 2049. Now Titan Comics is continuing its pop culture adaptation empire by creating new stories set in the Blade Runner universe. I wonder if they decided Deckard is a replicant or not?
Personally I don’t care about the intent so much as I don’t want Deckard to be a replicant. I think it makes falling in love with one carry more weight, plus using a replicant to hunt replicant criminals but he doesn’t know he’s one…I think that can start getting confusing if you really think about it within the lore.
