When I was younger I wrote descriptions on the back of my borders to help me find the comic I wanted. I don’t have time to do that these days, but here’s what I wrote for this comic, to the tune of “Secret Agent Man“.
There is a man who lives a life of danger. When he wears the mask, he gets stranger. When they mistake Mrs. Ipkiss’ son for Agent 911 odds are he won’t live to see tomorrow. Secret Agent Mask Secret Agent Mask I forgot the rest of the words. What was I going to say.
I’ve always been a weird boy.
What they got right: I like how the comic was able to play games with other genre’s, in this case the spy movies of the day. The villain, Greenthumb, is just at home in The Mask as he would be an old James Bond story. Also, for once Stanley gets the girl. I like that.
What they got wrong: Sorry, her Majesty’s Secret Service won’t let me add anything there. International security, you understand.
Recommendation: This is my favorite story out of the entire 12 issue run, so naturally I’m going to recommend this issue.
