As the Voltron Force continues to chase Voltron, they seek help from a secret military installation. Meanwhile, a man with strange powers and wearing a suit similar to the Voltron Force’s current uniforms demands to see the President, announcing himself as “the Man From Arus”. This goes back in forth with the story of the Earth scientist named Zarkon as he worries about his family disappearing as others involved with the secret project goes missing.
The only thing I can applaud is the art so let’s get into my biggest problem with this story only two issues in: this doesn’t feel like a Voltron series. Last issue Voltron fought a robeast and was taken captive off-panel. This issue he shows up on one page. The rest involves characters I don’t care about and one scene with the Voltron Force. Bouncing to this flashback without a framing device isn’t helping, either. Plus I’m still against the whole “Zarkon is an Earth human” bit.
I ordered a few more issues, but that’s all I’ll be getting, if that, of this series. The Modern Publishing comics from back in the day at least felt like Voltron comics, as did the re-imagining of Devil’s Due. (That’s not counting A Legend Forged, which was lame.) I really can’t recommend this to a Voltron fan.

Based on your two reviews on your site along with the comic issue synopsis for each issue of this particular series of Voltron that I found on mycomicshop.com, I have to conclude that I will not be trying to track down back issues of this Dynamite series or the trade paperbacks. Thank you for saving me money on what I now realize would have been an unwise purchase and a major disappointment in terms of the Dynamite Voltron run from 2011 to 2013. I’ll stick with my 80s Voltron comics, the Voltron comics of 2003 and 2004, Voltron/Robotech trade, the 2015/2016 Voltron: Rises From The Ashes comics of 2015 and 2016 (they were ok) and what I hope to soon purchase: Voltron: A Legend Forged (which after reading your reviews and after much careful deep though, I feel that I will be fine with those despite some of the flaws). Thank you for providing a valuable service of well written comic book review articles.
