This one is not necessarily story-related because the focus is on Disney’s business side. However I thought it would be an interesting one for the morning post. A YouTube channel I usually find interesting is Company Man, who looks at different aspects of businesses. In his “Bigger Than You Know” feature he looks at Disney, which has grown even larger thanks to their acquisition of Fox’s entertainment arm. What he didn’t mention is that Disney also owns Maker Studios, who raided and destroyed Blip, a popular video hosting site for my fellow reviewers, to make themselves look better to Mickey’s owners. That’s another reach into the digital world through the internet celebrity circle. Now Maker is just a multichannel network on YouTube and promotes their creators on other platforms. Shame to lose Blip though.
