I like the Star Wars/Star Trek comparison in this video. Yes, Lion Voltron is to Vehicle Voltron what Star Wars is to Star Trek. Each has its own unique, positive qualities. As an adult, I have grown to appreciate Vehicle Voltron more than I did as a kid in the 1980s. As a kid, Lion Voltron was definitely my favorite. Ironically, the only Voltron toy I had when I was a kid was the Matchbox Vehicle Voltron. Probably got that in late 1984 or early 1985. I didn’t get a Lion Voltron (a small one that was actually a standing clock) until 2015 when I was an adult.
Tronix, what did you have in terms of Voltron toys in the 1980s?

I had the Panosh Place lions and Voltron Force members. That was it for Voltron toys. Some years ago I did get a knockoff of the Vehicle team.
