The US attempt to return Doctor Who to the airwaves after an anti-science fiction programmer took over at the BBC (not that Fox’s history with science fiction is the best, save for The Orville, which is now moving to Hulu exclusive) didn’t work out for various reasons. I actually really liked it–yes, even the “half-human” idea–but Fox’s commitment apparently wasn’t that good. However, in a recent interview with the Radio Times, Sylvester McCoy went over what he thought might have happened in his successor Paul McGann’s run as the Doctor and why he was willing to do it even though it meant his Doctor meeting his fate in the most pedestrian way he’s ever died.

Having the old Doctors appear in a 1990s American Doctor Who series would have been great! At least in the present, I get to see them in my classic Doctor Who DVDs and also read about them in my classic Doctor Who novels.

Pluto TV has a streaming channel that’s all classic Doctor Who as well. You could try that some time. No charge, just ads.

Pluto TV with its no charge sounds great to me! It’s another way to catch classic Dr. Who episodes. Also, I forgot to mention above that there’s the option of the Dr. Who comics…..both those from the past and the ones from the 21st century that featured the classic Doctors. At least us “old school” Doctor Who fans have various outlets to satisfy our cravings!
