My Not-So Favorite Intros: Butt-Ugly Martians

This may well be the most competent of the TV intros to get into the “Not-So Favorite” category, which may make things worse. A good intro prepares you for the show you’re about to see, but it help if it makes the show look good. Then again, you knew what you were in for when you saw the title of the show: Butt-Ugly Martians, easily a disappointment from a studio that usually makes decent kids shows, Mike Young Productions.

Created by Michael Train and developed by people who should know better, the show follows the adventures of three Martians sent to conquer Earth but end up falling in love with the planet and end up defending it from other invaders while keeping their bosses in the dark as to their progress. It sounds good…until you remember the name of the show. Then you see the intro.

BW’s Worldbuilding Project Day 5: Villain 1 of 2

Chapter By Chapter: Fantastic Voyage novelization ch. 15

Chapter by Chapter features me reading one chapter of the selected book at the time and reviewing it as if I were reviewing an episode of a TV show or an issue of a comic. There will be spoilers if you haven’t read to the point I have, and if you’ve read further I ask that you don’t spoil anything further into the book. Think of it as read-along book club.

This may be the longest chapter in the book, or at least the longest thus far. This makes me curious. I don’t remember this scene being longer than the others but it might be the most dangerous yet for the crew of the Proteus. One loud noise and they’re trashed!

The closer I get to the end of a book the less I have to say going into it without repeating myself so short as this is I’m just going to get on with it.

Chapter 15: Ear

BW’s Worldbuilding Project Day 4: Who’s Wyatt?

Jake & Leon #351: Ad Season

I know I’m not the only one who watches for the ads, although I haven’t for the last few years. Sadly the ads lower quality was not the reason.

So how were the Super Bowl ads this year? Actually, the game is starting as I write this so you probably don’t know yet unless you’re watching after the game. Congratulations to the team that won. I don’t follow sports.

I’m hoping to get something done for the Worldbuilding Project if only to have an update on Monday morning but as I write this I haven’t had a chance. I had something to do today as well as yesterday. I do plan to continue it though. Meanwhile I’m hoping to review a minicomic this week for Free Comic Inside and that’s the only real update I have. Go back to watching your game.
