Spider-Man: Far From Home Teaser Trailer

I don’t usually bother talking about teaser trailers. They usually just exist to say “hey, we have a movie coming out” but don’t really tell you a lot about what’s coming. Sure, people love to speculate and find easter eggs and whatnot but it’s not usually interesting for me to talk about. So what’s so different about the upcoming Spider-Flick?

Well, this teaser may not explain a lot but it actually explains enough that theorizing about it isn’t grasping at as many straws as usual. In other words, there’s actually something to talk about. Congratulations to Marvel Studios or Sony or whomever hired the people who made the teaser because they actually knew what they were doing. So, let’s talk about it.

BW’s Morning Article Link: Ghostbusters Teaser Trailer Drops

Yes, I know these aren’t the right Ghostbusters. I only have to images in my library with the right ones, and one’s a cosplayer.

Apparently Sony’s really dedicated to making a third Ghostbusters movie in the classic movie continuity. (Sadly the cartoons still won’t be canon.) They’ve released a teaser that I’m betting got a lot of applause in theaters.

Chapter By Chapter: Tom Clancy’s Op-Center chapters 31-33

Chapter by Chapter features me reading one chapter of the selected book at the time and reviewing it as if I were reviewing an episode of a TV show or an issue of a comic. There will be spoilers if you haven’t read to the point I have, and if you’ve read further I ask that you don’t spoil anything further into the book. Think of it as read-along book club.

Last time we learned the identity of “Eyepatch” and just what his evil scheme is about, one born of fanaticism due to his previous life experiences. I’d feel sorry for him if he didn’t just blow up a bunch of people, including one of the few GOOD characters in this story thus far and they’re hard to come by, and blame it on the North. Sorry, I’m not rooting for you under any circumstances. Too bad the people I’m supposed to be rooting for have three likable people and you’re about to attack one of them. So congratulations on being just as awful as the people you hate.

This book gets harder to enjoy. That and time is why I’m only suffering three chapters this week. My goal is to have at least 11 pages but normally I won’t mind going a little over. I just don’t feel like going over this week, so here’s the page count for this week’s group:

  • Chapter 31: Tuesday, 10:10 PM, Seoul: 3 pages (though it reads like two)
  • Chapter 32: Tuesday, 10:15 PM, Seoul: first off, why bother with five minutes difference in the same geographic location? Just add these 3 pages to the other three.
  • Chapter 33: Tuesday, 10:20 PM, Kosong, North Korea: 3 pages

Well at least this week we’re in the only area I don’t mind reading about. Because reading about what’s going on with the title bureau is just not pleasant, and that’s the spot without the deadly bombing.

BW’s Morning Article Link: Machinima Exits YouTube

Long time YouTube channel Machinima, which started out as a home for videos done with video game assets but evolved into a regular video channel and multi-channel network, surprised a lot of people by leaving YouTube. This is because of the acquisition by Fullscreen, after parent company Otter Media was taken by WarnerMedia. Unfortunately this has led to headaches for the independent creators who had been working with Machinima and are now scrambling to regain their content on their own channels.

Also Machinima was the production company who made the Prime Wars Trilogy set of Transformers cartoons and with Go90 down (I wish I had known) I can’t finish watching Power Of The Primes and there’s no word of any of the three series getting a home video release. This is why I prefer physical media!

Jake & Leon #392: The REAL Last Jedi

Lego Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures is part of my head canon.

I don’t know if it would save anything, but the more I’ve thought about it since I started this the more I’m thinking that a semi-canon inclusion of the events of The Freemaker Adventures might actually benefit the franchise. If I can I may actually write that commentary this week. The problem is we have to switch cable and internet companies again because this one turned out to not be as beneficial as we would have liked right out of the box. I won’t go into it, but we may be headed back to the previous one, hopefully without any further problems. I’m still not getting back my phone number though. This may affect my working but it shouldn’t affect content. With luck I won’t be doing another video on here for a while (unless it’s my own, and that’s not even scripted thanks to the disruptions getting this situation dealt with) unless I have an actually commentary of my own to add to it.

Speaking of my work, The Clutter Reports this week has the other Mutant Beast Wars toy I can find (I still don’t know what happened to my Soundwave and I didn’t want Poison Bite) as I review Razor Claw.

Meanwhile I am hoping to get more content of my own done this week. In addition to another Finally Watched and the next set of chapters for Op-Center and hopefully that Rowan Freemaker article I’m not sure what else I want to do but I need to get on with things. Meanwhile in comics we’ve completed the Doctor Who comics I hadn’t reviewed, not counting larger collections, and I also have novels to do, one original story and some adaptations I want to watch the episodes alongside if possible. However, that’s a long way off. So what’s replacing the TARDIS? Well, remember when I said it was where the Doctor had been before? Who guessed…
