Remember last week when I said we hit the last of the Goldbug fights? Yeah, well apparently I was wrong. As I went through the comics for this week’s fight, I came upon another issue that also featured Goldbug, and THIS is the last fight. So who wants to go to a carnival? I know Spacebooger does.

Round 9 of 12

The Battlefield: The Transformers #44 (Marvel Comics, September 1988), “The Cosmic Carnival”

The Promoters: Bob Budiansky (writer), Frank Springer (penciler), Danny Bulanadi (inker), Bill Oakley (letterer), Nel Yomtov (three guesses), and Don Daley (editor)

Long story short, Sky Lynx and some Earth children are being forced to perform in a space carnival. Lynx is the star attraction while the kids are in the sideshow. While Optimus helps Lynx escape (a fight for another time), Goldbug teams with the sideshow runner, Berko, who has decided to also get out of the circus business. The rest speaks for itself.

Note that even the teddy bear isn't spared his wrath!

Insert sitcom-y song here.

And they all lived happily ever after…except for Big Top, of course, and actually Berko ends up hitting the skids (no, not him) when Sky Lynx is captured for dinner, but that’s also a fight for another time.

Don’t forget to read the other fights and vote for your favorite. Also, get the word out, tell a friend, or even take part yourself. You, too, can prevent forest fires…by making people too busy watching Friday Night Fights to camp.
