I don’t have a lot of time for the usual news breakdown this week due to some stuff going on that I don’t care to share with the internet, but it’s not really good news. I did manage to see two episodes of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I was kind of surprised as to whom in the circles I travel were into this show so I checked it out. It’s actually a pretty fun show, even without enemies threatening Ponyland or whatever they’re calling the place the ponies live. I can see why even older males are watching a show designed for little girls. This is also coming from the guy who is still wishing for Supergirl: Cosmic Adventures in the 8th Grade to make a comeback, mind you. So let’s get the news over with because I have to get going.
television/movies
- Peter Davidson and Janet Fielding agreed on killing off the Sonic Screwdriver.
- Want to be part of a future Doctor Who DVD commentary?
- Geek girls, rejoice. You have a movie of your own! You usually only see the guys getting a spotlight.
- Some spoilers from the latest news on Superman, the Doctor, and more.
- For soap fans like my mom: what’s Laura Spencer up to? Playing an adult character. No, not porn or anything. (For us guys, she’s married to Will Riker. 🙂 )
- The Science Channel is getting a new name (sort of). This one won’t affect the network, though.
video games
- Introducing the Konix, peripheral heavy long before the Wii. Too bad it was never released.
- Jerry Lawson, the man who created the game cartridge, passed away.
in other news
- Everything you need to go into space (minus the billions of dollars).
- Funny or Die’s Twitter feed surpasses Weird Al’s in subscribers. Guess who isn’t happy.
- The Clutter Reports: Just organizing some more of my gaming stuff prior to cleaning up that collection, too. I really do have too much junk.
- This Week’s Cracked: Cracked.com has a new design, but this is an older article, as Hollywood continues to make good things look bad in 5 Useful Organizations You Think Are Evil (Thanks To Movies).
Only one possible entry for “Best Scene of the Week” this week, but we have four chances next week. Who will take home the prize. You’ll have to wait to find out. Now I have to get going.

Hey, I’m not sure if you knew this, but months ago, Boyd Kirkland(animation director Batman: TAS and various NEST Bible stories) passed away.
Did you know this already?

I never heard of him, actually. I don’t follow the animator arm of cartoons too often, but it is sad to hear.
