Jake & Leon #353: Bibling

I leave that to authors.

Still learning the digital drawing, but I’m getting better. I need more time to play but I’ve had a hard enough time being consistent with the Worldbuilding Project. I’ll probably miss tomorrow as well but like Jake said I’m partly done. I considered taking a week off and focusing on the distractions, but they seem to keep coming so as a bonus I hopefully can learn how to work around them and get all my creative tasks done. I’m going to try to sneak in another Finally Watched this week but we’ll see what happens.

Over at The Clutter Reports…I didn’t post what I reviewed there last week, did I? It was the first of the three Transformers Alternators I have, Smokescreen. This week I went over the trade for Superman/Doomsday: Hunter/Prey. Next week it’s back to the Alternators.

Not much else to report this week. Hope you like what’s coming up.

Saturday Night Showcase: Acapulco H.E.A.T.

You know those shows that you swear existed but you can’t remember enough of it to confirm it existed? I remember this one mostly for the earworm theme song, but try this: a group of people pretty enough to be on Baywatch lives out of a hotel run by Fabio, that guy from the romance novel covers in the 1980s and 90s who sells imitation butter nowadays, works with swimsuit models, and fights crime. Sound familiar? Then the show you remember is 1990s Acapulco H.E.A.T. and you may or may not want to learn more. Well then stop reading because here it comes.

The show follows the exploits of the Hemispheric Emergency Action Team, a secret anti-terrorist squad answering to the secret organization C-5, a conglomerate of nations that in no way is meant to represent the explosive of the same name, no sir. It’s totally a reference to Where On Earth Is Carmen Sandiego‘s C-5 corridor. The team is led by a former MI-6 agent and a former CIA agent (joint command, I don’t think you can officially work for both organizations), and they stop global threats under the cover of beach fashion enterprise Acapulco Heat. They also live in a hotel, and everyone from the company’s owner to the hotel’s owner is in on the operation. In the two-part pilot below the HEAT team deals with a supervillain. Yeah, just watch this guy and his henchwomen in action. He’s totally a supervillain.

Friday Night Fights: The Fastest Horse Alive?

If you took away anything from my Black Stallion’s Ghost review of Chapter By Chapter it would be my lack of understanding horses. I don’t know a lot about them other than I tried to ride one as a little kid and even though it was a small horse I was afraid. I don’t know if it was for the same reason I don’t like roller coasters or my fear of heights or what the reason was but I never tried it again. I used to give up way too easy. I wasn’t the stubborn ox I am today. Someday I’ll tell you that story, and oddly it involves french toast and home economics class. It’s me so you shouldn’t be surprised normalcy is a rarity. Which should explain some of my fight choices.

That means I don’t know if a horse can outrace a speeding van. But if you’re the Phantom’s horse Hero, apparently you can. Just ask the driver with a skull mark on his face.

Another Awesome Superman Defense

Superman is my favorite superhero, so you can imagine the Superman hate by some bothers me. I don’t mean people not liking Superman. Nobody is going to like everything and some people don’t even agree on wanting to breathe. (And no, that’s not a suicide joke. I’m a human being for Pete’s sake!) So when I see videos and article defending Superman against some of the dumb reasons given why people don’t like him…or worse, want to get rid of him…I have to bring them out.

What Culture? Comics recently put out a list of 10 stupid arguments made by Superhaters and I just have to share it and make a few of my own comments.
