Although I’m sure somebody already realized that. I didn’t go to my uncle’s funeral for various reasons but I did attend the get-together afterwards and I did go to the wake the night before. And I drove myself, which I haven’t done much of lately and I was a bit nervous, especially with all the rain today. When I got home I was too tired to do anything. Technically the review of All Hail Megatron is already done since I reviewed it when I came out, but I’ll have a slightly updated review up sometime tomorrow and hopefully my review of the Rise Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles pilot on my usual post time, but I’ll probably miss the Morning Article Link. Priorities, you know.

You would think an announcement that IDW is doing a GoBots comic would make me a very happy guy. Well, consider that I don’t like the direction IDW took Transformers, and that the guy involved did that Transformers/GI Joe crossover I didn’t care for from IDW and I’m actually saddened. Sure I want them to come back but I don’t think these are the folks I want doing it. Also ICv2 kept spelling it wrong (no hyphenation, just a capital B…like my screenname) and I’m expecting IDW won’t be any different. It also ruins my dream of being the one to bring GoBots back to comics but I’d be fine if I liked the choices and I don’t. Sorry.

Remember when San Diego Comic Con was about comics? It’s tough but it’s possible. Now it’s where all the other geek culture media go to promote themselves and comics (which somehow have remained geek exclusive in the US since kids are rarely allowed to enjoy them anymore) are a second thought, and even then only if you’re a big name.
But since I discuss all forms of storytelling media I can here we can look at the movie, TV, and video game trailers SDCC has given us. If you want to see more you can use the collected resource I am from the website Bleeding Fool. (It’s like Bleeding Cool except they admit their political biases and the site is actually usable without tons of ads and annoying autoplaying videos. It’s why I stopped using Bleeding Cool; because I can’t read the darn thing and at the rate things are going I’m running out of usable entertainment news sites because the darn things take forever before I can actually read a single page.) Now I’m not going over every trailer, just the ones that interest me. This is still going to be video heavy so apologies to those on slower connections. It’s still easier to bring up than any Bleeding Cool page though.

From letting the mainstream press (not even the comics press…if there’s any such thing left) ruin the ending to the ending itself after a huge build-up, it appears DC Comics is realizing what a disaster the wedding issues were, or at least that the fanbase at large thought it was since they’re not apologizing for any of it. Rather than leave comic stores with a lot of unmovable comics they’re allowing the return of Batman #50 and Catwoman #1 (the 2018 ones…how many Batman comics have reached #50 over the years?).
