#500, and I thought it was time to update the logo. Still a little more uneven that I wanted, but it has more style while still matching the original. I might update it someday. I also got Beth to make her own comics, kind of therapy after the 2020 nonsense. Plus I did another Art Soundoff with Jake and Max. I seem to have skipped a number again. #502 is listed in my files as #503 and I’m not sure which one I missed.
Going over these again I saw a lot more commentary comics about the culture war ruining comics. This has always been a commentary/parody strip, so it’s not surprising. It kind of marks just when that nonsense started becoming harder to ignore. I try, but stupid people who’s social pandering and their own social status, plus the usual “my version is better than that thing you dirty geeks like” started combining with that, creating the situation we ended up with in 2026 with failures, closings, and hot garbage pretending to be entertainment.
Even though 2021 did its best to stop me, I still made it to #500!Nobody calls them out on that.I don’t hate it, but what happened to superhero stories that don’t come off as cosplayers in a slice-of-life comedy?We all started somewhere.Just stop before you get to Snugglegator.Still pushing my plan to bring young Jon back.I even had technical issues getting this comic up!Only one check-in by someone who isn’t me as of this writing.I had a joke here but somehow “Max” ended up with a better idea.The closest you’ll come to seeing these characters naked. At least from me.Based on advice I’ve heard from artists with actual clients.I can’t say this never happened to us, but not often enough that the joke should be this famous.Of course this year it was mental health, because my body finds new ways to attack me.I didn’t even know the next season was released.At least there wouldn’t be forced in nudity.If it’s “just a mantle” then how did I only learn of Joaquin Torres half-way through the comic? Google “Falcon” and you only get Sam Wilson.This is one problem going digital can’t solve.Modern DC heroes are becoming people I aspire NOT to be.Streaming once the various Pluses finish fighting over it.I found in short research a lot of German Shepherds, the DCAU had a Black Dane mix, and one bulldog.We’ve all had that kind of week. All I found were builders and a weird game of hide-and-seek.The sad part is that there are areas of the world where these are legit jobs. Two of them in the US.This is a go-to plot in so much anime.I hear the guy in the cutting room did the same.Well the fun part’s done, isn’t it?Well, that and who wants to watch someone on the potty?Jason killing? Jean-Paul Valley…At least they had advanced warning this time.Signs are a wonderful thing.Gee, I hope there isn’t some dying security guard or cleaning person who tried to stop them.They’re using the Geoff Johns reimagining as the core of their Shazam movies and even got that right.This is what happens when you spend your formative years trapped in hypertime instead of being trained by Superman.If you’re any kind of artist and haven’t had this happen…it will.The Snuggle Extended Universe continues to grow.Imagine that as a cover to a comic with a better artist.A creator can dream.Considering the current DC writing staff I’m not even close to celebratingThey aren’t even kind to their own characters, so why would they care about mine?And don’t think I missed the lack of capes in these new costumes. Can you really not think of anything better than a jacket?That’s how it started at Marvel, didn’t it?When the de-aged Spider-Man show for preschoolers is doing Marvel better than Marvel, you’re doing it wrong.It’s also a gift for the fans.
