This section starts about the time my dad was in the hospital, so that ended up affecting the comic. Luckily that didn’t last long and he was home okay rather quickly. Still, I was a bit more emotional this year. Maybe that’s why I did a story where Leon’s parents got to see what their son became after they died for this section’s Christmas offering? It was a good way to introduce new readers to the cast at least. The second to last strip is the only time I’ve made myself tear up, but I’m personally connected to this comic. Also, I miss my mom, who passed in 2013.
I also introduced the new prose archive section. Otherwise it’s the usual “turning life into gags”, Hollywood making odd and often stupid choices, and whatever parody I could come up with. Sadly I got tricked and they didn’t actually bring young Jon Kent back. That’s disappointing.
