Have I got your attention yet?
If the point of the Comics Code was to keep the youngins from seeing evil and sin as interpreted in the 1950s, you can bet sex and cursing was on that list. At the end we’ll get into everything wrong with the Code but I’m betting General Standards part c is going to be the funny one just based on what’s in comics today. I mean, I haven’t read it yet because it’s more fun to review it live but just by skimming it I have a feeling this is going to be good for a laugh or two before we’re done.
No, it’s not just sex. Other categories are going to be popping up as well.
All elements or techniques not specifically mentioned herein, but which are contrary to the spirit and intent of the Code, and are considered violations of good taste or decency, shall be prohibited.
But I do know the headlines that draw the crowds. 😀 This is actually going to be a series of topics so let’s do each section one at a time.
Star Wars: Battle Of The Bounty Hunters
Dark Horse (July, 1996)
WRITER: Ryder Windham ARTIST: Christopher Moeller PAPER ENGINEER: Vicki Teague-Cooper LETTERER: Ellie de Ville EDITOR: Lynn AdairThis was the first time I heard of a pop-up comic book While I enjoyed pop-up books as a kid (most kids do), the fact that one was made with a comic book intrigued me so I bought it knowing it was for kids.

The second Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles live action movies (only produced by Bay, but his influence is apparent) has had some leaked photos, showing the (assuming on Comics Alliance contributor Jacob Hall) pre-mutation BeBop and Rocksteady. There is also the debut of Karai and a potentially better Shredder than whatever the heck the first movie tossed at us.
We have some interesting comic reviews for Star Wars Wednesday. This is a flip book comic that I’ve already reviewed and I’ll post the original review plus some updated thoughts as I read through it again. This afternoon I’m reviewing a pop-up comic book.

The Fine Brothers Kids React series has kids reacting to various things, often old technology. In the latest installment the kids get to see the Transformers that they’re parents grew up with. Their reactions are not as set as you think or as welcoming as us old fogeys who first visited Cybertron would hope. But they’re still interesting.
