BW Morning Article Link: Update On Kyoto Animation

The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumia, one of the shows KyoAni produced.

Sorry for the cheerful art but I only know three of their shows, The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya, Air, and the Full Metal Panic series (image source: Wikipedia)

You may have heard that Japanese anime studio Kyoto Animation (KyoAni for short) was the victim of an arsonist, the latest update placing the victims at 34 of the 70 people in the building. ICv2 has an update on the company’s situation and the party responsible.

Chapter By Chapter: Transformers Armada–The Battle Begins ch. 5

Chapter By Chapter features me reading one chapter of the selected book at the time and reviewing it as if I were reviewing an episode of a TV show or an issue of a comic. There will be spoilers if you haven’t read to the point I have, and if you’ve read further I ask that you don’t spoil anything further into the book. Think of it as read-along book club.

Two chapters and a two page epilogue left to go. We’re almost done with this one. So far the Mini-Cons awoke on Earth, made three human friends, and now the Autobots and Decepticons are here. If we’re going to get to see what the Mini-Cons can do it better happen soon.

Chapter 5: Confrontation

BW’s Morning Article Link: Spend A Week In The Brady Bunch House

HGTV won the right to restore the home used for exterior establishing shots of the Brady home in The Brady Bunch. Now they have a contest going where the lucky winners can spend a week in December in the famous home. Apparently they’ve done what they could to make the interior look like the original home, although the layout may not quite be the same. TV sets don’t always match the inside of the real house they’re faking being in.

Jake & Leon #416: Pre-Anniversary

We all know he won’t even choose one before the fourth panel.

Yep, we’re coming on ten years of this comic just as we near eleven years of this site. This has been a really hot weekend, which is why this week’s Clutter Report is short and minor.

If I keep on course we may well have a Captain PSA this week. Additionally I should be looking at the first three episodes of Scooby-Doo And Guess Who, which is basically The New Scooby-Doo Movies in half-hour format. How does it stack up? And I’ll be doing other stuff as well that I hope you enjoy. Hope you all have a good week!

Saturday Night Showcase: Discovering The Order panel at ConnectiCon

I didn’t get to go to ConnectiCon again this year and this makes me sad. However, the event has their own YouTube channel and did stream a few panels from the event. One of them is “Discovering The Order”, a panel updating attenders on the in-production movie.

For those of you new around here The Order is a low-budget movie created by former Power Rangers actors Karan Ashley and David Fielding. I’ve been following the movie and its progression, including a few bumps they hit along the way. The story follows a secret group known as The Order (not connected to the recent Netflix series) that splinters when a mission goes horribly wrong. Most of the performers are themselves former Power Rangers actors but unlike yesterday’s look at Legend Of The White Dragon this is not a Power Rangers type story and does not contain monsters or super powers. They’re just highly trained assassins and espionage experts played by people who know martial arts. At ConnectiCon they held a panel featuring Ashley, Felding, and performers Austin St. John and Walter Jones, to discuss the movie and its current status.

I apologize for any sound issues. ConnectiCon just set up a camera in the middle of the room by the back wall and streamed it. If I had been there you’d have a more polished BW Panelling episode. This did not happen but hopefully you’ll learn more about the film.
