As a future creator of entertainment, I am concerned that I get to enjoy the results of my hard work, and no, praise isn’t enough if I was hoping to make a profit, and therein a living. Therefore, I found this “editorial” by That Guy With The Glasses reviewer Kaylyn “MarzGurl” Dickson of interest.
Please view with an open mind, and this goes for any other media source. There are those music fans who still don’t get it, yet I remember that one of ID Software’s FPS games was pirated once, and the gaming fandom got together to punish the culprit. I don’t get the difference. Because ID Software wasn’t a big enough company at the time?
[Disclaimer 1: I don’t follow the online anime community, nor have I followed the events of this story as MarzGurl has. However, I believe the points she hits overall are on the money.]
[Disclaimer 2: I always look through the legal source sites first for anything I post on this site, and will gladly take things down if asked by the rights owner. You’ll also notice going through old posts that some videos don’t work anymore because the hosting site–usually YouTube or Veoh in my site’s case–took them down at the request of the license holder. Although that Flash episode was on Joost when I linked to it.]
[ADDITION: She has a blog right here on WordPress. I didn’t know I shared a host with a celebrity. 🙂 (And WHY is WordPress not in WordPress’s own spelling checking program?)]
