In a recent video (which I will be posting tomorrow), “Moviebob”, the Game Overthinker linked to a recent “g1” submission (has nothing to do with Transformers, otherwise I don’t know where the term comes from) at Screw Attack, the website that currently hosts his series. In it, Brian Schmoyer, known as CirrusEpix, posted a video entitled “The Only Thing I Know”, in which he looks back at how he let video games negatively affect his life, notes that other gamers of his generation has made the same error, and still defends one aspect of the gaming community.

Tomorrow I’ll post the GameOverthinker’s look at the video game community, and he’s going to be a bit harsher than Brian. I will say this: it’s not only video gamers that have fallen prey to this. I think that’s why I started going to some of the local cons and the occasional nightclub visit: to get out of the house and meet people with relatively normal names (and no numbers), and why I still get my comics from the comic store rather than some web service. Entertainment should be for entertainment, not to take charge of your life.

Unless your a pro gamer or game designer, in which case it’s totally worth it. 😀 And even they check out sunlight in person once in a while.
