If you want to know why I’ve been sitting on this comic idea, click the comic for the behind the scenes look at a comic I ended up not making. Until then, check out a few things I found online this week.
comics
- There’s trouble at Image, and Rob Liefeld is blaming Todd McFarlane. Somebody make some popcorn.
- Comic Critics has another great comic, featuring another “things you always wanted to know about Batman“. I think he’s trying to give Chris Sims and David Willis competition.
television/movies
- A former writer for one of my favorite shows, Silverhawks, has died, but was it a murder? (h/t ToonZone)
- Mark Hamill to call it quits as the Crown Prince of Crime. He’ll play the Joker again in Batman: Arkham Asylum 2, the sequel video game. I put this in the tv/movies section because he began the role on Batman: The Animated Series and has become as famous among comic and animation fans for that role as he is Luke Skywalker to science fiction fans. (h/t: Scans Daily)
- The Washington Post‘s Ann Hornaday makes a stupid comment on Tony Stark as portrayed in Iron Man 2, and Big Hollywood‘s John P. Hanlon calls her out on it.
video games
- A defense of the game Psychonauts. I wouldn’t mind getting a chance to play it myself. It sounds like a lot of fun.
- Mario is the “godfather of gaming” according to Guinness, the world record people. Take that, Kuros!
- Another gaming icon, Pac-Man, is celebrating a milestone. Happy 30th birthday!
in other news
- Apparently, the Federal Communications Commission doesn’t like having a media format it doesn’t control. Namely, the internet.
- This one’s been sitting in my computer for a while. Allen Swift, whose voice credits include one of my favorite characters, Mighty Mouse, passed away last month.
- Celebrity deaths occurred this week as well. Actors Dennis Hopper and Gary Coleman passed away within a day of each other. Oddly, Brittany Murphy’s husband, Simon Monjack, a writer and producer, was also found dead in the same hotel room Murphy was found dead in last year.
- But to end on a happy note, congratulations to Bully the Little Stuffed Bull on his fifth year and 2500th post as a blogging phenom. Give him a hug when you see him. Especially if your a certain actress.
- This Week’s Cracked: 6 Writers Who Accidentally Crapped Out Masterpieces will probably tell you more than you wanted to know about Lewis Carrol, Hunter S. Thompson, and other well known writers, some of whom probably weren’t planning to be as big as they are.

I think we can end on that, don’t you?
