Today is Veteran’s Day here in the states (I hear that Canada has something similar today) where we honor those who served in wartime, whether they died in battle or still live, often with emotional if not physical scars. It’s a bit different on a real battlefield that it is playing Call of Duty.
I found this video at Bretbart.TV which I think is a good message to send, not only about what our troops go through, but what you can do about it.
If you’re like me and can’t necessarily volunteer time or money (I have little of both) then you can still get the word out by spreading either the URL or the video and letting people who can give aid know that these people need that time and money.
Or at the very least, just tell a veteran “thank you”. As a few political cartoons I saw today reminds us, that is a more important debt than the one Congress keeps running up. Even if they don’t give up their lives, they give up their time, sanity, limbs, family, and plenty of other things we take for granted to fight so we don’t have to, strangers they never met but care about all the same.
I willingly admit I don’t have the guts to do what they do, but I have the utmost respect for our servicemen and women.
