Superman Family Adventures #2
DC Comics (August, 2012)
WRITERS: Art Baltazar & Franco ARTIST: Art Baltazar EDITOR: Kristy Quinn “SUPERMAN” CREATORS: Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster
Bizarro arrives on Earth, and makes mischief for the Superman Family. Jimmy gets a signal watch. Jor-El gets a new costume. Fuzzy the Krypto Mouse gets swatted by Streaky. The Titans make a cameo. That’s pretty much it.
And that’s why this doesn’t work for me personally, the same reasons that Tiny Titans didn’t work. That’s not a complaint, nor am I calling either comic bad. Quite the contrary. It’s nice to see some actual superhero stuff in this universe. All I’m saying is that even with the continuity nods and what not, this isn’t the superhero comic I’m looking for. I was hoping for something more like Billy Batson or the current version of Young Justice. I hope it continues for the sake of dragging in new comic readers, and Tiny Titans has a strong fanbase in every age group, but I won’t be picking this up on a regular basis.

Call me a Tiny Titans devotee, so this second issue of SFAdv really did it for me (in a way the first did not). I’m completely charmed by it.
