And here we are again. Last night we looked at the 16th of November-April, and found I actually liked more of my work than I thought. (The horrible typos not so much.) At some point I decided it was enough links for one page and decided to put the rest here. So here are some more articles, and hopefully there are enough to warrant this second posting.
- Scanning My Collection: That Time Superman Teamed With Himself: One of my favorite Superman stories as we see what part of Superman comes from Clark Kent’s experiences.
- Commentary Vs. Journalism: A decision by fellow reviewer The Comic Strip Critic made me think about what we do as critics.
- Superman’s Only As Boring As The Person Writing Him: In this “BW VS.” article I take on a Cracked writer who declared Superman boring and refuted his reasons why. Sadly, I could have used an editor to catch typos.
- The Obscure World Of Non-Transformers Power Masters: Like the title says.
- Why Superman Matters To Me: Also self-explanatory, and with Man Of Steel coming out there were a lot of Superman articles at the time, and not just from me.
- Superman Meets Jake & Leon: Which led to all of Superman’s appearances in Jake & Leon up to that point.
- BW V-Log: Man Of Steel: It all led up to that. I still maintain it was a decent (yet flawed) superhero movie but a terrible adaptation of Superman.
- Why Henry Cavill’s Superman Isn’t MY Superman: In which I disagree with Cavhill’s take on “real world”. There was also this interview about Lois Lane.
- Why The Doctor Shouldn’t Be A Woman: Frankly I’ve never heard a good in-story reason to do so.
- The Live-Action Status Symbol: Because if it’s animated or not in theaters it’s not truly successful?
- Top-1o Kaiju: Part of a collaboration of geek blogs.
- Lobo Shows The Failings Of The New 52: I don’t think they get the joke.
- Godzilla: The Movie Vs. The Franchise: I love the original Godzilla movie, but you couldn’t build a franchise off of it without letting it grow beyond an anti-atomic bomb allegory.
- DC Vs. Superhero Social Lives: DC hates supporting casts, especially spouses.
- Why #FireDiDio Won’t #SaveDC: A Twitter campaign (more of a reason to rant) leads me to explain that DiDio is only the first hurdle for DC’s problems.
- Harley’s Hilarious Hanging and Naked Suicidal Women: An Update: When you’re doing an art contest, sometimes context is very important.
- The Making Of A Vehicon General: Another artifact from my old Transformers site, corrected and updated for BW. This one looks at how Megatron corrupted Maximals to make his Vehicons in Beast Machines.
- DC And The Iconic Wonder Woman: Diane Nelson gives a reason there’s no Wonder Woman movie. It’s a weak one.
- Sacrifice This, DiDio!: DiDio’s stupidity goes beyond comics, as he raises a defense for having no non-super acquaintances for heroes by insulting families of every law enforcer, soldier, and rescue worker on Earth. That’s about and beyond the cause, Dan.
Which takes us to November 16 of 2013 and the beginning of BW: Year 6: Hopefully the DC and Superman destruction will be ignorable, because I do want to do more positive stuff on this site. I also have new video ideas, and I want to make the site financially solvent so I can make it my full focus. We’ll see what happens, but Happy Anniversary, BW! Hopefully next year will have more fun…and less typos.
